I can't say YUMMY enough. Even my niece, who isn't particularly fond of apple pie, loved these. Me too, I keep the oat mixture in fridge for use with a single apple when I'm hungry for something sweet. Bravo Alton Brown!

Wow..this is so good Alton!! Thank you for sharing!! Several readers had left over dry ingredients but I wonder if they hollowed out the apples enough. I had a little extra but not much and just sprinkled it on anyway. The honey soaked into it while baking and a yummy gooey sticky syrup developed. This is a fantastic desert!!!! Serve with ice cream and enjoy. Love Love Love.
I will definitely be making this again.

Pretty tasty but this recipe made more than four times as much topping as I could cram onto my poor apples. A big waste. I would say either triple the number of apples, cut the recipe in 1/3 or be ready to throw streusel mixture on everything you eat for the next two weeks.

So, so delicious! I watched the episode and noticed he had a lot of streusel topping left over, so I halved that part of it for 4 apples and only had a little left over. The crunch of the streusel is great with the soft apple!

I made these on a whim after seeing it on Good Eats and they went off without a hitch. Very simple, yet the flavors are complex. I will definitely do this again.

You can't go wrong with fruit, cinnamon, and sugar. Alas, this was mediocrity. It didn't really blend in any special way. The apples don't caramelize at all with the honey-it's just slightly sweeter, with a texture that doesn't really work.

No real flavor beyond the struesel at all. Total miss IMO.

Both the flavor and texture of these apples were to-die-for. Warm and sweet, with a faint bit of tartness, a little crunch, delcious sauce...heavenly.

This was so easy and tasty. I added a little vanilla extract, as well.
