I mixed in some white chocolate chips and sprinkled the finished cookies with cinnamon sugar instead of icing. They were delicious! Very moist and true, pretty cakey- they kind of fell apart when I tried to transport them in ziploc bags. But all in all, they were amazingly flavorful and scrumptious. Make them!!

Delish and fool proof. I made two changes. I toasted the walnuts in the oven before adding to batter....like the taste of the toasted walnuts better. I used a 1/4 tsp. of allspice instead of the fresh nutmeg.
I made for a welcoming gift for new neighbors who just moved in. I hope I don't eat them all before I get them over to neighbors. Have not iced them yet but still are delicious.

Me and my wife made these and loved them even without the icing. We decided to use Cool Whip instead of the icing to give it just the right amount of sweetness!

I made these for thanksgiving, and they were a huge hit! They are more cake like than a cookie, but they were great none the less. They were extremely soft and the perfect texture. The frosting makes the cookie 10 times better, so i would suggest making it. Without the frosting the cookie is too bland for me.

Great cookies, even without the icing. They cook up fast, and taste amazing.

I love this cookie! I always bring a few copies of the recipe if I make them for a party because someone always asks for it!!

They are a cakey cookie, almost like a moist scone. I think they’re great in the morning with coffee. I do cut back on the butter and use pumpkin pie mix instead (which was really more of an accident because I grabbed the wrong can at the store! Turned out great though. I don’t use the nuts or raisins either, but I have made it with chocolate chips.
