My family loved this soup, even though I was trying to remember the recipe from the show without looking it up first, and I used thyme instead of rosemary oops! I also could not find creme fresh at my local small town grocer so I opted for a light sour cream it was a wonderful topper the lemon was so fragrant and yes I used the thyme again. I wouldn't think twice about using my thyme oops again. I do suggest that you use a handheld blender I couldn't find mine and got third degree burns from my stand blender when the boiling soup blew the top off. OOUUCH!! Overall it was delicious, easy, and quick meal to prepare for a cold fall day.

Just made this soup tonight. it is simply delicious, healthy and great for company. I changed a couple of things. I added 3 or 4 fresh basil leaves in with the rosemary sprig. otherwise followed the soup directions as is... i used a hand held puree devise to blend.

I didn't use Giada's creme fraiche topping. instead i made my own with fresh whole milk ricotta cheese, fresh lemon zest and mixed in some basil pesto to taste. i spooned that on top.

For my 10 year old son i added the plain fresh ricotta cheese to his soup for a creamier consistency and that aided in reducing the red pepper spice.

this recipe is so flavor-filled and delicious... you won't be disappointed. Although, i should note that some might find it dull without the topping. But be creative... it would be yummy with toasted croutons... drizzled pesto/ or olive oil... whatever... you will enjoy.

I had high hopes for this soup, but I was disappointed in the flavor profile overall. It felt shallow, like it was missing the rich, deep flavors that a full-bodied soup should have. I might experiement with sauteeing some pancetta first and then adding the vegetables. The whipped cream topping was beautiful, though, so props to the presentation

This is the adult version of tomato soup! The gorgeous red velveety soup is topped with a dollop of fresh whipped cream, lemon zest and rosemary. The presentation and end result is astounding. The soup is thick and hearty because of the pureed white beans and has a wonderful flavor that isn't too acidic. My go-to tomato soup.

This is so easy and delicious.

It's a great way of the kiddos getting veggies and not realizing it because it is so good!!!!

All the combined flavors and when you puree the kids do not see any vegietables and they eat away.

For the san antonio people, creme fraiche can be found at central market.

This was the first tomato soup that I've every made, it caught my eye because of the beans. It was easy to make and turned out to be very hearty. I served it with crusty bread, and it was a very satisfying meal. Thanks, Giada!!
