These are amazing cookies. I made them a couple of years ago for a party (they were a hit!!, then misplaced the recipe. I'm so glad I found it! I don't even like cranberries, but someone left some at my house for some reason and I decided to find a place to use them. They're great in these cookies! The cardamom is a fantastic secret ingredient. It's one of the seasonings I never use, but it's perfect here. I LOVE oatmeal cookies, and these are a nice change from my usual chocolate-oatmeal variety.

I only had whole cardamom so had to grind the seeds. It was well worth it! I also substituted whole wheat flour for half the flour. Excellent. Will make again and again.

Ever since I first tasted oatmeal cookies with cranberries, I became addicted. I had to make them. This recipe was savior! They turned out perfect. I didn't add the cardamon and instead of using baking soda, I used baking powder, so they turned out really fluffy on the inside. It only took 10 minutes to cook. I went through seven dozen in three days (not by myself of course! They were a hit with the family. Really superb!

I made these cookies yesterday and they are very good. I was looking for a recipe that used cranberries more than oatmeal, since my family's not really crazy about oatmeal cookies. I added a cup of chopped walnuts and a cup of white chocolate chips, then reduced the oatmeal to two cups to balance out the dry ingredients. Next time, I'll use more cranberries, since that's the taste and texture I wanted to stand out. I did go out and buy cardamom just for this recipe, and I definitely think it adds to the overall taste. But now I'm sure I'll be looking for more recipes that use cardamom, because even at Wal-Mart one standard size spice jar was over $10!

I was looking for a good oatmeal cookie to make for my daughter as an after school snack. I picked this one because I knew I had the ingredients. Hands down, these are the best oatmeal cookies I have ever had. I added white chocolate chips and a pinch of ginger and they were incredible. Super easy to make and cook super fast. It's bedtime now and I'm already down almost 1 dozen of the 5.

I was worried as I mixed these up that they were going to be dry...but don't worry, they're awesome!

Everyone loved these cookies. A couple things I did differently, but they still turned out great - I added about 3/4 tsp baking powder and forgot the cardamom. I made them into Oatmeal-Peanut Butter Creme sandwiches (Hubby's idea, and they are deadly! I just mixed some peanut butter with a little confectioner's sugar and milk and gobbed it onto the cookies. I'll make these again.

I used Fresh Cranberry's and melted White Ghirardelli Chocolate and dipped half of the cookie in the white chocolate after cooling and put in the refridgerater to set. The Cardamom is a little spendy for 1/4 tsp ($8 but really adds an extra zing to these cookies!!....Delicious!!!

I saw from the comments that most people varied the recipe a little and wondered if that was what made them give it five stars. Well, I also adjusted the recipe, but I also say they are great. It seems this is the perfect recipe to personalize. I added white chocolate and slivered almonds. I also substituted 4 tbs shortening for part of the butter- hoping for a little chewy. They are great.
