Dr. Tanya Remer Altmann is a board-certified pediatrician in private practice with a special interest in child, adolescent and family nutrition. She is also a Clinical Instructor at UCLA, author and media personality.
Dr. Tanya completed her pediatric internship and residency at UCLA after attending Sackler School of Medicine. A Southern California native, she graduated cum laude form Claremont McKenna College.
Committed to family, Dr. Tanya is on the editorial board of the American Academy of Pediatrics best-selling parenting book, Caring for your Baby and Young Child: Birth to age 5, a columnist for Los Angeles Family magazine and a parenting workshop instructor. In addition, she has authored several articles on child and adolescent obesity and nutrition. Dr. Tanya has also contributed to numerous parenting magazines and websites and is currently seeking a publisher for a parenting book that she co-authored.
Dr. Tanya has regularly appeared as a medical expert on programs including Santa Barbaras morning news and Lifetimes What Should You Do? She can currently be seen giving advice on infant and child health and nutrition on the PBS parenting show A Place of Our Own. As a spokesperson for the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), Evenflo Safe Baby and Toddler Council and Ross Pediatric Nutrition, she has also been featured in several educational videos and video news releases.
Both independently and through her work with the American Academy of Pediatrics Media Resource Team which she currently co-chairs, Dr. Tanya has advised many television shows including ER, Family Law, and Citizen Baines. She is active in the National Association of Medical Communicators and serves on the executive board of the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Media.
In her free time, Dr. Tanya enjoys running, pilates and traveling. She lives with her husband in the Los Angeles area.
