Chef Tyler Florence, perhaps best known for traveling across the country helping everyday people with their cooking challenges, has a unique perspective on how we like to eat and cook. He believes in simple recipes and quick cooking, as well as bold flavors and fresh food.

Chef Tyler Florence’s Background
In 1991, Tyler Florence graduated with honors from the College of Culinary Arts at Johnson & Wales University in South Carolina. He then moved to New York City and refined his culinary skills under the guidance of Charlie Palmer at Aureole, Marta Pulini at Mad 61 and Rick Laakonen at River Café and in 1998, Tyler Florence opened the critically acclaimed Cafeteria in Manhattan.

TV Cooking Show Host
Tyler Florence made his TV cooking show debut in 1999 on Food Network’s Food 911, where he travels into viewers homes to help solve their cooking dilemmas. He also has hosted other Food Network shows, including Tyler's Ultimate, where he takes viewers across the globe in search of people who cook the ultimate foods; All American Festivals, where he goes behind the scenes at food festivals like the Hope Watermelon Festival, the National Hard Crab Derby Competition, the Chuckwagon Cook-Off and the Bridge City Gumbo Festival; Planet Food; and My Country, My Kitchen. Tyler Florence also is a regular on NBC's Today show and has two successful cookbooks, Tyler Florence's Real Kitchen and Tyler Florence Eat This Book.
