Known for his Napa Valley Tra Vigne Restaurant, celebrity chef Michael Chiarello is host of Easy Entertaining with Michael Chiarello on the Food Network. He also is the creator of NapaStyle specialty foods and handcrafted products for kitchen, home and garden.

Michael Chiarello’s Background
Born in 1962 and raised in the central California community of Turlock, Michael followed his childhood dream of becoming a world-class chef. He began apprenticing in restaurants at age 14 and graduated from The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park in 1982. Influenced by his Southern-Italian heritage, he has his own unique style of California-Italian cooking as shown in his many restaurants, including the wildly successful Tra Vigne in Napa Valley, where he served as founder/executive chef until 2002.

Michael Chiarello’s Accolades
Michael has consistently earned accolades as one of the top chefs in the country, including Chef of the Year by Food and Wine magazine in 1985 and the Culinary Institute of America in 1995. He is the author of Michael Chiarello’s Casual Cooking, Napa Stories, Tra Vigne Cookbook and Flavored Oils and Flavored Vinegars.

His Emmy-award winning TV program shows viewers how to host casual, easy to plan parties that revolve around great food. Each episode of Easy Entertaining is shot on location in northern California's wine country at the Gargiulo Winery.
