If you're hosting a fashionable party, you can't limit your bar to just wine and spirits. You have to have fashionable drinks, too. But who knows how to make all those cocktails and mixed drinks? Food Network, that's who. Here are some directions to get you on the way to making the best mixed drinks in town. Cosmopolitan Drink Recipe The modern classic Cosmopolitan drink recipe has newfound appreciation, once again thanks to the fab four on TV's Sex in the City. They're simple to make—add 2 parts lemon-infused vodka, 1 part Cointreau, 2 to 3 parts cranberry juice and a touch of freshly squeezed lemon or lime juice to a martini shaker with ice and then shake. Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with a slice of lemon. Martini Recipe There are so many martini recipes out there now; you'd be hard pressed to find one you didn't like. But a traditional martini recipe consists of 2 ounces of gin, plus 1/2 ounce of vermouth shaken over ice and served on the rocks, or strain into a chilled martini glass and garnished with a spear of olives. A vodka martini substitutes vodka for the gin. Holiday Drink Recipe If you could choose two tastes that sum up the holidays I think chocolate and mint would be at the top of your list. So, if you're hosting a fashionable holiday party and want to offer your guests a warm toddy, try this tasty hot chocolate recipe. It's also simple to make and just tastes like the holidays. Mix together 1/2 ounce White Crème de Menthe, 3/4 ounce whiskey (Southern Comfort or Crown Royal) with 1/2 ounce of vodka. Fill with hot chocolate and mix vigorously. Serve hot and enjoy.
