If you're looking for a simple and tasty food idea for your next dinner party, try fondue. There are hundreds of simple fondue recipes, and because your guests will all have to gather around your fondue pots, socializing comes naturally. Fondue recipes When it comes to fondue recipes, your options are limitless. You of course want to have a traditional cheese fondue; Swiss cheese is the way to go. But Food Network's Sara Moulton has a recipe for chipotle cheese fondue and Rachael Ray's fans rave about her German cheddar and beer fondue, so don't be afraid to stray from the traditional Swiss. If you're having a dinner party, you simply have to end the meal with some sort of chocolate fondue and serve fruit, cake and marshmallows for dipping. Rachael Ray's, Emeril Lagasse's and Sandra Lee's recipes are hits with show fans. Food, Drink and Wine Fondue is ideal for food- and wine-pairing parties, too. Because you can serve so many types of fondue, you can pair each course with a different fine wine. For example, pair a traditional Swiss cheese fondue with a sweet German Gewurztraminer. If you're serving a Coq au Vin fondue with beef, seafood and chicken, let your guests choose from a nice light Chardonnay or a velvety Cab or Merlot. Finally, you can also pair a rich chocolate dessert fondue with a deep, juicy Cab or Merlot, or try a dessert wine like Port.
