When most of us throw an Oscar party, the Academy doesn't get involved. But last year, when Bobby Flay and his wife, actress Stephanie March, decided to host an Oscar bash during Food Network's South Beach Wine & Food Festival, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences got wind of it and declared it an officially sanctioned party, to benefit the Miami Beach Film Society and Cinematheque. The chef is quick to credit his wife: "It was all her idea. When we're traveling, we never know if we should watch the Oscars in the hotel room or go home to New York." Instead, the couple threw a party for 350 at Miami's Paris Theater, complete with champagne, a red carpet and signature dishes from Bobby's restaurants. You can steal some of their ideas for your own gathering at home; in fact, the two are planning to stay home themselves this year. "We're probably going to have a party at our house, which means I have to cook," Bobby says. "But I think it's going to be much more intimate."
