What you'll need:

1 50-inch-wide roll butcher paper
2 1-inch-thick pieces white foam, 45 inches wide and 10 inches longer than the child (available at crafts stores)
2 yards each red and beige felt
Hot-glue gun and sticks
Needle and thread
1 20-yard bag rolled batting
Assorted colored felt, for toppings
1 bottle fabric glue

What to do:

1. Have the child lie on butcher paper. Measure 14 inches above the child’s head and mark a dot. Draw a 42-inch line below the knees, then draw a triangle to the point above the head. Trace around the child’s head to outline the face opening and cut out the triangle.

2. Use the pattern to cut two triangles from two pieces of white foam. Cut a face opening into one foam triangle.

3. Place the foam piece with the face hole on the red felt and trace around the outside, leaving an extra 3 inches on all sides. Repeat with beige felt; cut out the felt triangles.

4. Hot-glue the red and beige felt to the foam triangles, folding back the felt edges and gluing them to the back of the foam. Make sure the red piece goes over the foam with the face hole.

5. Pierce the felt covering the face hole and cut slits (like pie pieces), then fold in and glue to the back of the foam. Hot-glue the front and back of the pizza together, gluing just the sides and leaving 10 inches for armholes.

6. To make the crust, cut a 12-by-42-inch piece of beige felt. Fold in half lengthwise and sew the long sides together; turn inside out and fill with batting. Sew the ends, then sew the crust onto the bottom of the pizza. Cut topping shapes out of colored felt and attach to the pizza with fabric glue.
