Ristorante Barolo went out of business around June 1, 2013.Cristina has leased the restaurant to a couple from Israel that opened a restaurant called "Booka", which I tried last night.They call the food Caifornia Fusion.It was excellent, and I was so pleased to see how well managed and professional the new Leasors are. They did not rehire any of the old staff.They left the same decor that Restaurant Impossible remodeled, which is beautiful. Now that the decor, atmosphere, food, service, and Management are all on the same level, I think they will be successful. The staff is outstanding.Cristina is still running the Bayview Hotel, but has rented most of the rooms out to long-term tennants.Giovanni has joined his brother in Sacramento to help him manage a restaurant.Unknown if it is a permanent or temporary move.His cancer remains the same.Cristina is still living on the 3rd floor of the hotel with her 2 youngest daughters,age 16 and 18.
