I had high expectations because this place was on TV. The service was good, and the place was comfortable. The food, although fine, was mediocre. I enjoyed my breakfast but I certainly wasn't wowed. My breakfast was comparable to any Denny's restaurant.

This wasn't my first stop at the Studio. I travel a little for work & the Studio is walking distance to the plant. The Studio was my first introduction to fish tacos (Wednesday's only. Being a New England guy, this was a foreign concept to me. They were great! Went there after the Patriot's loss to the Raven's, had Fish & Chips. The fish was literally extending over the plate. Excellent. Everyone else enjoyed their meal too. Got a sweet tooth? Check out the banana split, it's huge. Very reasonably priced.

Food was delicious! You can tell that the cooks/chefs put effort into creating quality foods and using quality ingredients. Our server, Heather, was very attentive and polite. She made sure that we were taken care of. My husband & I agree that you don't find quality food and service like this anymore. If we lived closer, we'd be coming here regularly! If you're looking for food that's not greasy or sloppy, then Studio Diner is the place to go! Give them a try and you won't be sorry!

I ordered take-out because my kitchen was underconstruction. I had a visitor from out of town, so I ordered from Studio Diner. They messed up the order. Instead of softshell we got a turkey sandwich. The cost was out of sight for 1 sandwich and 2 salads, plus french fries and onion rings it cost $84.00. They have no parking to speak of. What a waste of time and money.

I do not live in San Diego, but have been to Studio Diner many times (most recently in June 2012 and the food and service have always been excellent. Favorites: New England clam chowder, mushroom brie soup, Monte Cristo sandwich (w/sweet potato fries, steak sandwich, milkshakes, and all breakfast entrees. The one poor review below states "we had saw..." - seriously??? With a review so poorly written, I doubt that they knew what they were talking about. I wish there was a Studio Diner in Florida...great place!

I don't know what the last reviewer was thinking. This is one of my favorite places to eat in all of SD. I have never had a bad meal. The Prime Rib French dip is amazing.

It was awful! We had saw the episode on DDD and went when we were in San Diego...The hostess & waitress were so rude and the place smelled like very old oil and our dinner was awful! There was 6 of us and the hamburgers & the chili we ordered were awful!

Even the French Fries were extremely greasy and tasted of old oil! We would not recommend eating here, not tasty by any means!!! We were so disappointed! 0:(
