When looking for an authentic Southern experience, get in line behind Roger Mooking, who thinks The Wilkes' House makes the best fried chicken, lots of love included. The love continues as this restaurant has served Southern specialties from banana pudding to butter beans family-style since 1943.

My Bride and I have been to Mrs. Wilkes' many times. One of our most favovrits !! There is no menu, All the food is on the table and served like the bording house it once was. At least 20 dishes, all low country / southern cooking. We drive from Conn. to Mrs Wilkes and then on to Florida to my Brothers.
