Every weekend before Thanksgiving, Plymouth has a Chowda contest after the Thanksgiving parade. The competition is always against Cabby Shack. I do like their chowda! My husband does not like thick chowder, he prefers thin with no thickeners added. The chowder contest has since grown to include more categories of food. It's a great parade and delicious contest with the people judging.

Although Plymouth, MA is a tourist town, you have to eat at the Cabby Shack on the Wharf, even if it's just to have the Clam Chowder. We agree with Beau that this bowl of "Chowdah" is the best in all of New England. Thick, creamy and full of clams.
