What flows through the river of Flavortown? Guy says it's the Bar-B-Q Chicken at Bar-B-Q King. On The Best Thing I Ever Ate and Triple D, he chows down on their chicken that's been fried and then dunked in their famous barbecue sauce. It's nothing short of a tried-and-true recipe from 1959.

It has been a couple of years since we ate at Bar-B-Q King, but it was not worth the exit off the interstate. I got the fried chicken platter, the chicken was over done, rolls are not homemade and they were cold, slaw not that good either. My daughter got the hamburger, it was OK, but not what we were expecting. Service was bad. Would not go back.

Don't let the name BBQ King fool you! If I want to eat BBQ, I'll find somewhere closer to home. You must try (especially if you're on a budget the Po boy meal. OMGosh, burgers done to perfection and the onion rings are a MUST! Best onion rings in NC, if not the south. You gotta love the curb service too. Takes me back to my childhood every time I pull up to one of the speakers.
