Nice place although I thought it would look more like an old original gas station with the appropriate memorabilia. Instead, it reminded more of a place in Las Vegas!
The soup of the day was very good. Chicken noodles with tomatos. The staff very pleasant and attentive. I ordered the Meatloaf Sandwich, and I was told that it was a good choice by my waitress. I also had the side of Wasabi Cole Slaw. That was good, fresh but the Wasabi was hardly noticeable. My Meatloaf Sandwich was dry and burnt. I was there late but I really expected a moist, flavorful meatloaf and it was all the opposite.
I made note of it to my waitress and she offered to tell the cook and the manager, which she did. I ended up with a discount but I really was looking forward to this so-called meatloaf. Too bad. I was on my way to LA from Austin. I watch the show and was excited to experience my first Dinner but this was not the winner!

A real unique makeover from a gas station into a restaurant. We tried the Special Meatloaf, and although good, nothing real special about it. Not a very big slice and only small portion of mashed potato's. Since we traveled to NM to sample some of the Food Networks suggestions, we felt that the Standard Diner was just that,"Standard".

Passing through Albuquerque, December 2011, my wife and I checked the Triple D list again. It is a modern diner; not classical by any means! Our waiter was friendly, and knowledgable of their coffee. We dug right into the burgers. I had to taste the Bourbon Butter Burger, from the show. Some say bacon makes everything taste better. No, no, no. The Bourbon Butter, melting on the beef when your plate arrives, and continuously moistening every bite as you eat it. 7 months later, my mouth waters thinking of it. Oh yeah, my wife thuroughly enjoyed her Bulldog Burger? Let's just say, green chillies. Enough said.

My wife and I ordered two entrees featured on the DDD show. The Finer Loaf was ok. There was something in the loaf that made it sweet. I like my meat loaf tangy & spicy so the sweetness didn't appeal to me. The mashed potatoes were very good. Great texture. The second entree was the Country Fried Tuna. My wife liked the wasabi guacamole sauce. I preferred the pickled ginger tartar sauce. Both of us liked the fried tuna better than the loaf. The tuna was $14 and the loaf was $16. You get enough to eat but you don't have to loosen your belt because of the quantity. The restaurant was modern and we enjoyed the interior. The servers were friendly and knowledgeable.
