Chef Rudy Acosta has strict instructions from his great grandfather not to mess with any of their Cuban family recipes. The giant serving of arroz con pollo amazed Guy with its savory flavors. He could not get enough of the ropa vieja, a house fave with shredded beef in tomato sauce, beans and rice.

Specialty Dishes: Arroz con Pollo, Ropa Vieja

Since I'm disabled I will not be able to see NY but I can order from KATZ'S DELI. But since I won't be able to get their recipe for my own use, I'll have to go elsewhere for something this good. I' am a veteran and have gone thru NY but people back there think we eat native american food and don't enjoy other food like pastrami or NY cheese cake, hot corn beef on rye among other things. Its not really our fault the great food establishments are back east but it would be nice if I had the recipe for the chicken and rice for my personal use and not share. I know the reason for the secrecy but having kidney cancer along with other problems .like just getting my taste of food back (lost 153 lb in the last ten months but I'll see if there is any like it on other sites like El Boricua Calderos. Where there's a will there's a way.
Thank you anyway, maybe he would trade a recipe for a famous chicken recipe. This goes for the Ropa Vieja too. It really looked great!!!!!!

I gave it 5 stars only because the food all looked great & I'm now talking to my wife about going to New York to actually go to this restaurant. As "amsbuddy" said in their review I can't believe that food network didn't post the recipes from this restaurant . All I can say is to the chefs and staff keep up the great work & we hope to see you soon !!! Quite a drive from NC to NYC so its going to have to be a little more than a weekend trip but I know the wait & drive will be worth it.

I can't believe they did not post the recipe for arroz con pollo from this restaurant! I didn't have time to write it down while watching the show, and then I thought, "oh no problem I'll just get if off the web site" - NOPE!
