When Rachael Ray craves a big old plate of pasta, she heads to Lupa, a Roman trattoria co-owned by our own Mario Batali. The casual setting ties into its homey plates, like rustic Spaghetti alla Carbonara or the favorite, Ricotta Gnocchi. Diners rave over the newest "Roman-style" late-night menu.

For good Italian food in Greenwich Village, Lupa is pretty much foolproof. The menu is packed with simple, Roman-style fare, and the atmosphere is delightfully unpretentious. If you don't have a reservation, try eating at the bar; it can cut down the wait time on spontaneous walk-ins. And in what could be considered an anomaly for this quality of restaurant, over half the wine list is under $50.00 -- cheers to that.

One of my favorite places in NY. The food is simple and delicious. My favorite is the cacio and pepe pasta - it's made perfectly. So simple and so delicious!
