Stopped here about a year and a half ago after seeing them on Triple D and knowing I would be traveling to Rockingham, NC and Dot's is just a quick stop off of 95.
I ordered the sailor sandwich since that was one of the featured items on the show. Great sandwich and seriously filling. Staff was extremely friendly. Stopped back again last year on my way to Rockingham again with my 11yr old son. We ordered chili, and sailor sandwiches. Nice meaty chili and once again the sandwiches were right on. Headed to Rockingham this weekend and we will definitely make a stop on Friday to Dot's Back Inn again. Looking forward to a great meal, and serious hospitality, its the perfect break halpfway on a 9 hour drive to Rockignham, NC from Jersey.

My wife and I ate at Dots Back Inn last night. She had an omelet (the entire menu is served all day and I had the chicken pesto pasta. The pesto was quite good, if maybe a little garlicky, and the portion size was generous. I couldn't eat the entire plate despite enjoying the dish. My wife thought there were too many tomato chunks, but otherwise also enjoyed her omelet. The servers were all quite friendly. The only downside to this restaurant is the lack of space for waiting for a table. We had to wait outside, which is also where the smokers hang out because of Virginia's no-smoking-in-public-eateries laws. Apart from that we quite enjoyed the meal and will probably go there again.
