"Living out here," Ree says, "I don't have to worry about doing my hair and makeup every morning."

The family's basset hound Charlie is almost as famous as Ree is — he's the subject of a children's book Ree wrote last year.

"In high school, I ordered this all the time at Eggbert's diner in Bartlesville, Oklahoma," Ree says.

The Drummonds raise cattle on thousands of acres of land.

Ree's mother used to make these cinnamon rolls every year for Christmas.

After breakfast Ree gets some girl time with her daughters, Alex (left) and Paige.

Ree puts out a bread basket of three baked treats: cinnamon rolls, scones and these glazed muffins.

Ree's son Todd is a cowboy in the making.

With lots of room to run around and haylofts to explore, the Drummond ranch is a kid's dream.

Bryce and Paige are a strong match for their dad, Ladd.

"We all mess with each other," says Ree. "That's where the love comes in."
