Dean and Tori's Kitchen
Husband-and-wife actors Dean McDermott and Tori Spelling are partners in all sorts of ventures—two TV shows, an antiques store and, most of all, their four children. But here in their Westlake Village, Calif., kitchen, they aren't always on the same page. "Cooking with Dean is ... interesting," Tori says about her hyperorganized husband. "If he tells me I'm holding the knife wrong one more time, I swear!" But Dean, a onetime line cook and now a contestant on the second season of Rachael vs. Guy: Celebrity Cook-Off, says the problem is actually Tori. "She's the Tasmanian Devil," he says. "When she's done, there's stuff all over the place."
Dean doesn't like keeping recipe notes in a notebook, so he posts a big piece of paper on the refrigerator. "Chopped is a great source of inspiration for me," he says.
Dean has always loved copper pots, so Tori bought him a vintage Mauviel set at a flea market for their anniversary. He keeps the pots hanging here with his others.
Tori's barstools are made from recycled plastic and woven by tribal craftsmen in Central India. She found them on fab.com.
When their 5-year-old son, Liam, declared that he hated eggs, Tori and Dean got chickens (named Elizabeth Taylor and Coco). They hoped that if Liam helped collect the eggs, he'd start eating them. They were wrong.
