Winning Recipe: Pretzel-Crusted Pickle Chips with Mustard Sauce
Pickles are much more than just a sandwich accessory -- or so we learned from our March 2010 recipe contest. Danica Preston of San Antonio turned her favorite childhood snack, crisp dill pickles right out of the jar, into a grown-up party food: pickle chips. She coated thick slices in crushed pretzels and fried them for extra crunch. Even Danica’s anti-pickle boyfriend found the salty chips and smoky dipping sauce addictive. "They’d be the best bar snack," she says.
