A new family favorite. I used a little extra garlic and basil and let the sauce cook a little longer then the recipe called for, but it was a hit at the table. Was a little hard to fine the peppered bacon but now that I know where to buy it, this will be a regular at our house!

Yumm-oooo! I made this for dinner last night and it was a major hit. Very easy to put together. Served it with a salad and some french bread! I didn't have any cheddar on hand so I just used pecorino romano. I also added about a half teaspoon of dried basil and oregano to the sauce for a little more flavor. I'll definitely be making this again.

I made this for dinner tonight after seeing her make it on her show...I used smoked bacon, a few cloves garlic, red onion, and my store didnt have the fire roasted crushed tomatoes so I just bought regular. Turned out just fine though!! We LOVED this! Easy to make and very yummy!! Loved the smokey taste from the bacon and I love garlic and onions so that was awesome too!! Didnt want to shred sharp cheddar, so I just used shredded mild cheddar already in the package and that was good too. Great recipe Rachael!!! Thank you!

The peppered bacon was a key to this recipe I used more than the recipe called. I thought I had a purple onion in my pantry but didn't and had to use a yellow onion. Still great taste. I also added basil from my garden. Fantastic.

This was crap. I threw away what was left off my plate and in the pan.
I went to 3 stores for the bacon, and could not find it, I used regular, but that wasnt even the issue.

I wish some restaurants will make this dish. It's so yummy and easy. My all family like it. Even my 1.5years old baby girl. We will make it again.

I loved the flavor of the bacon. I usually don't use the speciality bacon she uses but I can glad I did in this case. It made the dish. I made the whole recipe even tho there is just two of us and we are not big eaters but froze half the sauce for another time. The fennel salad with it was very refreshing.

    It was awful.
The sauce tasted metallic because of the canned crushed tomatoes. Use fresh tomatoes and it'll work way better.

Very easy and tasted great! I did use the whole package of bacon since I would never use pepper bacon for anything else - turned out great!

Great recipe, I only changed a few things. I used a vadalia onion (i like the flavor of vadalia more than red, 9 pieces of bacon, a little red wine about a minute before I added the broth and diced tomatoes, and i used penzy's pasta spice instead of fresh parsley. Came out perfectly, Not bland at all!
