I made just the chops and the applesauce and both were great! My husband who "does not like pork" loved them! He's mentioned them at least 2-3 times since we had them and said that they should be added into our usual meals. The applesauce was delicious (I used regular raisins and apple/white grape juice instead of cider but next time I will peel the apples - Rachel said she liked the skins on but I found them to be chewy - and I'll also serve the applesauce on the side because the applesauce on top hid the flavor of the maple syrup and mustard on the chops.

We changed parts of the recipe, like using mild cheddar in place of the sharp cheddar, but our picky eaters loved every aspect of this dinner. Definitely a keeper!

I was eager to try this recipe because my family likes the pairing of apple cider and pork and also because of the rave reviews I had read. However, this dish did not go over well with my family. I only prepared the entree and it took longer than 30 minutes to finish. The sauce was too sweet and bland than what we prefer and the pork loins were tough.

I would not make this dish again. This is one of the rare occasions that Rachael's dishes did not do it for my family.

I made this dinner tonight; we had the Pork Chops, Applesauce, Mac & Cheese... and I made stuffing and had some Hawain Sweet Rolls with it! My husband is a picky eater and said that these chops were "The best pork chops he has ever had... and that he could have eaten 3 more!" Wow... what praisal! I absolutely loved the flavor of maple and hot-n-spicy mustard... and the applesauce with the golden raisins was awesome; I added about 2 tablespoon of Brandy to my applesauce when it was done and it just kicked it up a notch! I definitely will make this recipe again... and I'm sure that it is now a "fav" of this family! Thanks RR...

We made this recipe last night. It was great. I will use this again and try with chicken. Impressive for company. My pork was a little dry next time I will cut up a pork tender loin or use chicken. I had no problem with the maple syurp. Large dice on the apples. Thank you Rach!

What a great meal!! The flavor of the mustard mixed with the maple syrup is awesome. (I didn't try the mac and cheese, didn't sound appealing to me... my review is only for the chops and apple sauce

We skipped the mac & cheese, but I decided to try the pork chops. I don't normally eat pork and usually think it's disgusting, but I'm always willing to try new ideas.
I'm SO glad I did! I didn't use the mustard in the chops, just maple syrup. I thought it might be too sweet, as did my husband, but it wasn't at all. It was so good I found myself wishing I'd bought extra chops.
The applesauce was awesome. I used mixed raisins w/golden delicious apples. There were zero leftovers.

I would cook the chops 5-6 minutes on each side. 6-7 minutes was just about overdone. I made the cheese sauce earlier in the day. As it sits, it thickens. If used immediately, it's too thin. The apples are wonderful - I cooked them ahead too. And the glaze for the chops is brilliant. All in all, one of - if not THE - best full meal I've tried. I'll do it again and again.

I made the chops and apple sauce. I didn't use apple cider though only because I couldn't find a small enough container of it and it's too expensive for only needing a small amount so I used apricot juice instead. I'm sure it didn't matter because it was very good anyway. The pork chops were awsome. But next time I will make little more juice. I will definitely make this again, Thanks Rach.

The Pork Chops and Apple Sauce were awesome. I let the apples cook down a little more than what Rachel had suggested. I also mixed the mustard in the syrup in a seperate bowl adn then poured over the pork. -- I also doubled the amount of sauce. It was just awesome. I did not make the mac-n-cheese.
