We had this as a sidedish with a strip steak, I can not tell you how good it was! A wonderful change from potatoes. Steak and shallots can not be beat!

First off ? where?s my buck?!! After watching Rachael make this dish, I too added to my grocery list, and made this dish for dinner. (After all, she did practically beg us to? Anyway, my family LOVED it. I was happy to see her use the whole wheat pasta along with the other simple and mostly on-hand ingredients ? I did have to buy more shallots. I?m also glad to know I?m not the only one who suffers when slicing shallots ? but this recipe was totally worth the tears. I will definitely make this pasta dish again, it was absolutely delicious.

Wouldn't change a thing. I loved this. I loved that it was whole wheat pasta too, since it's healthier for you.

The only thing I might try different is to cut back a teeny little bit on the oil and butter. It's not a lot at all, but my boyfriend and I really try to cook very low fat, we would cut back just a tiny little bit. But, like I said, it's not a lot at all - so, feel free to leave it in.

It was absolutely delicious and we had leftovers for lunch the next day.

So anyway, I saw this recipe in the March "EDWRR" magazine and passed on it. After seeing her make it today I was tempted to make it, even after having pasta ishes the last 2 nights. I had pecorino-romano and regular spaghetti on hand & forgot to buy parsley so I had to alter it, but it was still fierce in taste. Simple to make, very few ingredients but very satisfying. Definitely a "go 2 meal" for me too Rach! Now where's my $1.00? LOL

I have grown weary of alot of Rachels recipes in the past year - I think she is getting just way overexposed, but after seeing her make this simple pasta this morning, I added it's ingredients to my grocery list and then made it for lunch. It was very good! The only criticism I have is that the shallots need way more than 20 minutes on low to get appropriately carmelized. I did 30 minutes and it still wasn't enough to get them sweet and browned. Otherwise, with a good quality cheese and fresh parsley, this is a very satisfying and easy pasta dish. Will make again.

I tried this recipe right after seeing it on the show...I didn't have the exact ingredients, so I had to improvise. If my improvisation tasted that good, I can't wait to try it the original way! Absolutely fantastic! (And easy!
