compare measurements to emiril's which has more than 2x the rum and less sugar, this recipe works beautifully. I added a 1/2 oz more rum per drink and it was fine.

This is a super refreshing summer drink. I have mint growing right outside my back door--all you need is a little shade; it grows great under the edge of a deck.
I use a whole lime for each drink and up the rum some. You can use the sugar (or Splenda and club soda to control the sweetness--I like more tart than sweet, so if I were using 7up or something, I'd still cut it w/the soda.

I knew how to make mojitos, I just used this as a guide to make sure I had the right ingredients. I didn't really measure, and instead of muddling with fresh limes, I shook it using lime juice.

When you serve this to someone who has never had a mojito before they become instant fans. This is great to bring to a party.
