I made this years ago and I didn't think that 4oz of marinara sauce would do it. Remember there are 16 oz to a cup, so the amount that they're suggesting is a quarter cup of sauce.
I used a store bought tomatillo sauce and used about a cup 16 oz and it was delicious! I will make this again this weekend, but I'm going to use ground beef as opposed to chicken.

My daughter & I prepared this recipe tonight. It was not as good as Monica's which was absolutely one of the best mexican dishes I have ever put in my mouth. We were so excited to see Food Network had the recipe. Since we had had the original we did not use Marania sauce but Salsa Verda & Red Tomatilla Salsa and more than it called for or it would have been to dry.It was good just not as good as Monica's. Thanks for the recipe.

This is very good, but on the episode this comes from they did't use marinara. They used regular, red, salsa and tomatillo salsa, and this is what I used. I'm not sure how it would taste with marinara...is that a typo????

THIS IS THE EASIEST RECIPE FOR MEXICAN LASAGNA I'VE COME ACROSS, AND, ASIDE FROM THE CHEESE, IT'S RELATIVELY LOW CAL. HIGHLY RECOMMEND, PAIR WITH MEXICAN LIGHT BEER.

this recipe is good, but not great. i will make it again, though (next time i will season the chicken (something spicy and the marinara (trader joe's marinara is so bland. the recipe has great latitude. i think any modification/addition to this recipe would work well!

I have made this twice and really enjoyed it. The second time I put it together the day before and refrigerated it until the next day. I have had this at Monica's though and don't feel this recipe is the same as what they serve. I added some chopped onion with the corn for more flavor.

This was a fantastic recipe. When I saw it on $40 a Day, I had to try it. To make it even healthier, I used whole-wheat tortillas and low-fat "Mexican" cheese. My only suggestion is to either add more tomatoes or present it over salsa to make it a little less dry and for added flavor. Otherwise great recipe!

A simple dish that can be put together earlier in the day and popped in the oven at dinner time. I thought this dish was missing something. Next time I will add more chicken and cheese.
