When I saw this on $40.a Day,I swooned.Vermont is full of the Best Recipes as every State is as well.I like to make smaller "Hand Pies" with a stamper for Dough.Great for Those whom live alone or just a Couple.Simple? Yes.Scrumptious?Absolutely.Try before You cry Foul! Cinnamon DOES Get Hotter with the More Used In Recipes.Plus,There Are Two Types. Ceylon & Vietmanese.Just Use The Amount Of Cinnamon You Feel Tastes Good To You.We Always Prepare A "Test" Of a Recipe Prior To Entire Mixture. This Helps In ALL Catagories.

wonderful! I USE A LOT LESS CINNAMON. Just a few shakes. I have also made it with blueberries and apple when I was short on apples. Both ways are delishious.

I HAD TO THROW IT AWAY. THE AMOUNT OF CINNAMON WAS OVERWHELMING. IT HAD BEEN SUCH A LONG TIME SINCE I HAD BAKED AN APPLE PIE, THAT I NEVER QUESTIONED THAT MUCH CINNAMON. I BELIEVED THAT IT MUST HAVE BEEN A MISPRINT, BUT I CAN SEE FROM READING OTHER REVIEWS, THAT IT WAS NOT A MISPRINT. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS RECIPE TO ANYONE AND ALONG WITH THE PIE, THE RECIPE IS IN THE GARBAGE.

I noticed that professional chefs had scaled down this recipe from a bulk recipe. I feel there HAS to be a typo in the amount of cinnamon 3 TBS. It is really strong. After eating our pie (with lots of ice cream I went back to this site and looked at other recipes. The recipes I looked at called for 1/4 - 2 TSP. of cinnamon-big difference!

I can't go back to regular apple pie after trying this recipe. I am a native Vermonter and am so proud to have my state's name attached to this recipe. it is the only apple pie filling I will use when I make my apple pies. The amount of cinnamon is perfect.

i found this recipe to be quite simple. it was the first apple pie i had attempted. dont use too much nutmeg, tho...it will ruin the whole thing. overall...easy to understand, make and eat! i have used it several times and have had no complaints.

This recipe was pretty easy to make and the rewards of the wait after baked is scrumptious!! Add a little vanilla ice cream and you have a delicious dessert to follow up with dinner. My kids even enjoyed it (and they are picky!!!! If you are looking for an apple pie with the "standard" ingredients and want to get smiles from your guests, then try this one!!!

I'm sure they must have meant 3 teaspoons, not 3 tablespoons, of cinnamon. However, never having made an apple pie before, I didn't realize this and I followed the recipe. The pie was disgusting--inedible. Too bad Food Network couldn't have fixed this (first reported over a month ago or I would have had a holiday dessert like I planned.

Three tablespoon of cinnamon is way too much. It completely overpowered all the other flavors in the pie including the apples. And I used Granny Smith which are very tart.
