These are the best homemade waffles I've made so far! I doubled the recipe for my family of 5, and it made 5 beautiful waffles. My kids don't like their waffles too crunchy or crisp, so I just lowered the cooking time to 2 minutes on my Cuisinart. Very good!

Great recipe!! First time making waffles-- used a new Pro Waring waffle maker.I doubled the recipe; used whole milk; and stevia instead of sugar. I did not grease the iron and the waffles did not stick. I made exactly 8 waffles and they come out CRISPY on the outside, fluffy, and tender on the inside.I highly recommend this waffle recipe.

Use non-stick cooking spray! The first round was a frustratingly comical, cooked-on, stuck waffle mess! After clean up, and application of non-stick spray, the waffles were fabulous!!! Very light with all the nice, crunchy bits!

Unbelievable. I love waffles and always search for the perfect recipe that is light and crunchy. This is it! It doesn't get soggy after the first minute out of the waffle iron. Extremely light. Letting the batter set for 30 minutes is a must and it worked for me to let it set for over an hour until everyone was up.

Spectacular recipe! Easy to make... I added just a little extra sugar and vanilla and had to use some cooking spray to our waffle maker so the waffles wouldn't stick. Perfect amount for our family of 3. My husband, son and I all loved them!

I liked these and so did my kids. I doubled everything but the oil and buttermilk. For the oil I used 1/3 cup and then used 1/3 cup applesauce. I only had 1 cup of buttermilk so I used a cup of milk also. The batter seemed a little runny but they turned out just as the other reviews said they would. Will definately make again.

We absolutely love this recipe. It sure "beats" beating egg whites! My family enjoys these nearly every weekend. Thanks Rachel!

I love this recipe. I hesitate to say this because I am a huge Alton Brown fan, but I like this recipe even better than his basic waffle recipe. My batter was thick, the waffles pushed the top of my waffle iron up as they cooked. I tripled the recipe as written, except for using a little less oil than called for. They came out light and crispy. Just perfect. I noticed that a lot of people had trouble with this recipe, so I made sure I used fresh baking powder and baking soda and didn't skimp on the 30 minute resting period. Wow. I'm so glad I found this.
