Much like the previous reviews, I "tested" this recipe prior the holiday season and it turned out great. I made it again for my kids Thanksgiving morning and again for my entire family for Christmas breakfast. I usually have to triple the recipe when everyone gets together to make sure we have enough. You can add fresh blueberries to this for a little extra treat! Enjoy!!

I made this recipe for thanksgiving breakfast for my family and they loved every bit! I altered the recipe some due to the suggestions made by others & it worked out! I had to tripple the recipe since I have a big family of 6..For Christmas I am making them again but adding my left over Sweet Potato Pie mix to the waffle batter and adding berries & cream on top...Very tasty!

What a wonderful and easy treat for breakfast. It will become a traditional fare for our family gatherings.

Made this waffle by using the basic directions...modified due to my laziness. I didn't want to go to the store for buttermilk so I used Half and Half and Heavy Cream instead. Doubled the vanilla, punched up the sugar a tad and substituted unsalted butter for veggie oil. My family loved these waffles. Try them, they come out much better than store bought box mixes. For my flip style Belgian waffle maker, this batter only produced three. Double the mix if you have more customers. Thanks FN!!!

I followed what Rick from Tulsa, OK recommended, and used exactly the ingredients specified, using buttermilk instead of whole milk, and these came out most excellently! Very tasty and a good meal.

However, this recipe only made 6 waffles on my relatively small waffle maker, which was just about perfect for me and my husband, (with some spicy sausage on the side, but for a family of four I'd imagine you'd either need to double or you'd need some scrambled eggs.

These waffles were the most worryfree waffle recipe I have made to date. Yes, like other reviews, fresh dry ingredients a must with all baking. And adjustments to one's taste is simple with this recipe. The base of this recipe is simple good and easy. Don't forget to have fun with it.

There seems to be a lot of inconsistent results with this recipe. There are some things that are obvious but some that are not.

The obvious: Make sure you leavening agents are not expired/bad. The baking power and baking soda need to be in good shape.

Not so obvious: The recipe says whole milk or buttermilk. Buttermilk is the key and if you can find it, use 2% not 1%. 2% buttermilk will give you the right consistency on the batter. Most importantly, it will provide acid to react with the baking soda and offers a richer flavor. You?ll never buy boxed mix again! Happy eating.

The texture of these waffles is very good. They are crisp on the outside and light on the inside. The problem with them is their flavor without syrup. I used buttermilk and it was one of the overwhelming flavors and if you don't like drinking buttermilk straight then you may not like the taste. Also the salty flavor of baking soda and salt were the second most noticible flavor. I think they require more masking flavors like increasing the sugar and vanilla content and consider adding cinamon. Also, I will try to make again with regular milk and not buttermilk. I don't have a flip waffle maker and the batter didn't rise as well as I would have liked.

These are okay waffles but not great.

This was my first time making homeade waffles and these were perfect! However for my waffle maker it only made enough for two waffles. I didn't make any changes.

these waffles were wonderful-I made 2 batches-they were light & crispy
just they way they should be.
