I can't remember the last time I made waffles! These were perfect! Super light, cripy, texture and tasted great! The batter was so thin, I'm glad I read the other reviews before I made it, so I didn't worry about it. You gotta try these.

These waffles could not be easier to make and taste better! My family loved them. I have made every kind of waffle, from a mix to beating egg whites at 7:00am. What a relief to find a wonderful recipe that was a sinch to make! I would double the recipe if you are feeding a hungry group though.

For Andrea the reviewer from CA:
I live only a few minutes from the establishment that created The Waffle of Insane Greatness. It is not a recipie created by the Foodnetwork. You can see the menu for yourself at www.arethas.com
Foodnetwork is not claiming it is a Waffle of Insane greatness; that claim is made by the Owner of Aretha Frankensteins.
I have never made the recipe, but I have frequented the establishment and they have awesome waffles and food!

...I know this because my DH, our family's most infamous eater and self-styled food critic, informed me that this recipe was "somewhat better than Krusteaz mix; definitely lighter and has a better flavor." So note to self: take hyperbolic claims from $40 a Day with a grain of salt, ahem.
I chose this recipe from three pages of search results on this site because it was the only one that didn't ask me to a separate whites and whip them into fluffy peaks and/or brun to the store for things I don't always stock, like sour cream. I mean, what home cook has it in them at 7 am to mess with beating egg whites into soft peaks? Not me, nor any of my contemporaries (read, LAZY, sleep-fogged non-chefs. Let's not lose sight of who our REAL audience is, okay Food Network?
So if I had to rename this recipe I would call it Better Than Box Belgians -- because they are.

This is a wonderful recipe!! I am so picky about my waffles and have been looking for a great recipe. This is a delicious waffle recipe. I like mine a little sweeter, so I add a little more sugar, but that's just me. We sometimes add nuts and fruit as well. It's just as good or better than buying those expensive waffle mixes at the food gourmet stores (and less expensive, of course.

This was an excellent recipe. I added my favorite to it which was ground sausage to individual waffles as I made them for who liked them. I will try using whole wheat flour next time as I prefer that over white flour. I've shared this with many friends tonight and it's replacing my old favorite. Highly recommended!
