This waffle totally lives up to its name. It is insanely great. I am so hooked on them. Ive made them like 8 times now in two weeks. I also made them once and served them with butter pecan friendlys ice cream . SO GOOD!!!! These waffles are so light and fluffy and have the perfect texture. And flavorwise they are remarkable.

Just to compare this to other recipes, I made a batch of Bisquick waffles and they were so much worse. Dry and also very plain.

So stick with this recipe. its the best waffle recipe youll come across!!

I was reading the comments from the other users and I could not understand why they hated them?! These are the best tasting waffles! I am not just saying that because Aretha Frankenstein's is here in Chattanooga, TN but they really are good. The only thing is you have to consider is that this recipe was not created by professionals, so if you are an amateur cook, you may have problems. But other than that, my family and I love them. If you are making four or more, you will have to double the recipe and buttermilk works best.

    These waffles were alright.

I added a 1/4 tsp more of vanilla and I separated the eggs, whipped the whites and folded them into the batter. The taste was nice but they were far from crispy. Maybe next time I will follow the directions exactly and see how they turn out.

Also, I would recommend oiling your waffle iron before pouring in the batter. Even with spraying the iron some parts still stuck.

Well.... these are indeed very good, Really airy and crispy. I even subbed half the flour with whole wheat flour and it didn't weigh them down. This recipe doesn't make much though, and they aren't very filling. (least not for our family I doubled the recipe and it just made about 7 full-size waffles. I'm guessing these are really fattening.... don't want to know.

Don't use oil or spray on your griddle and expect to spend at least an hour scraping it off your iron. Tasty though.

These are the best waffles I have ever made or eaten. The are crisp and lighter than most waffles. Didn't change a thing. This is my waffle recipe from now on. Oh ya, I love the title of the recipe. Thanks

Great recipe. Tripled it for 6 people just to be safe. In tripling, used 1 cup of creamline whole milk and 2 cups of non-fat buttermilk. Also, only had 1/2 cup of cornstarch, so added a 1/4 cup of corn flour to compensate. I only had 2.75 cups of olive oil, which didn't seem to be a problem at all. Allowed the batter to rest on the counter for 30 mins as recommended. Went 2:30 mins per side in our kitchenaid waffle maker. Came out golden and crisp on the outside while nice with a desirable fluffy cake on the inside. Served this with a rosemary/potato/gruyere frittata and maple sausages.
