Everyone loved them and I doubled the recipe and they were all consumed. They do take longer than 5 minutes to put together but ---- it will get quicker with practice. I used chives from my garden and i will put a little more salt and pepper on them next time. BUT THEY WERE GREAT!!!!

This is a great and easy recipe! So economical too. You can use any kind of cheese you have on hand (I used swiss but next time I will experiment with another variety just for fun! I sprayed my muffin tin well with cooking spray and those little gratins popped right out onto the plate. They smelled so good cooking and tasted even better! Even my picky 15 year old daughter gave this a rave review! :

I have made this recipe four times now and each time the gratins turn out perfectly. I have used cheddar cheese, swiss cheese, whatever I have in the fridge and all have been delicious. This is a great recipe for quick week night meals and dinner parties.

I thought this recipe was a very nice new way to make potatoes. Even my husband who does not usually like them went back for seconds.
I changed the recipe a bit since we do not use heavy cream, instead I used the campbells healthy choice cream of celery. and I put some on every level that I built.
I am not sure how long I cooked these for but they did not take above minutes to cook and they certainly did not stick to my pan as others on here have stated. They slipped right out of their place and were nice brown and crispy on the sides and the bottom and looked lovely. Next time we are going to try them with cheddar cheese and cream of broccoli soup :

I have made these several times now and they are always a hit. I use what ever kinda of cheese that I have available and usually skim milk or half and half, because I have it handy and they always turn out great! Thanks again Melissa.

As a fairly experienced cook, I'm not sure why I couldn't get this recipe to taste good. I also found this recipe took more than 5 minutes to make and the flavors were quite bland. Perhaps it could have used some spices. Also the potatoes were not cooked in the time specified even though they were very thinly sliced.Sorry, hard to understand the high ratings on this one.
