Whole-Wheat Rotini Mac and Cheese
Great mac and cheese
This was great. I did double the cheese. I thought maybe it was an error in the recipe, (you meant 1 cup of each cheese) Spinach in mac and chesse was very different but very good.

Delicious... but cut down on the bread crumbs!
After reading some of the other reviews, I made a few changes to the recipe. I doubled the amount of cheese (which I really recommend, I don't think it would have been cheesy enough if I hadn't) and I used frozen spinach instead of fresh baby spinach. The pasta itself turned out great, but the amount of bread crumbs was overwhelming. I would really recommend at least halving the amount of bread crumbs. I will make this again, but will omit the bread crumbs and probably add some more onion.

Seconds, please!
I am so glad that I read the posted comments and reviews before attempting to make this recipe or I'm absolutely sure it would have been a disaster. To improve the recipe, I used an entire box of whole wheat rotini. I used about two cups of spinach as veggies are big in my house. I did make sure to cook the spinach first by sauteeing in olive oil. I used 1 cup of each cheese instead of the 1/2 cup of each that the recipe called for. I also used sharp cheddar instead of regular cheddar as I love cheese. Before melting the cheeses into the milk mixture, I seasoned for flavor (salt and pepper) as recommended by another user and threw in some red pepper flakes for a bit of spice. I can see how this recipe would end up bland without this seasoning. Lastly, I sprinkled a bit more meunster and sharp cheddar on before adding the breadcrumbs. I made this for my parents and my mom couldn't get enough! It tasted even better the next day when I brought it to work for lunch. I'll definitely make this again but will need to season the milk mixture more and will use a little less breadcrumbs.

Still trying to find the perfect mac & cheese...
...because this just wasn't it. After reading the comments, I more than doubled the cheeses, added more spinach than asked for and also some ham, to add flavor that many people say is lacking. And still, it wasn't ooey gooey cheesey and the flavor just wasn't there. To make it edible, we added salt to our individual servings, but it still wound up straight in the garbage. I don't know what I would do to change this recipe. I guess I just wouldn't make it.

Good Mac and Cheese!
My daughter loves mac and cheese and I am always interested in trying new recipes. This one is a winner as it is a good 'base' for any mac and cheese. Sundried Tomatoes are a little overwhelming in taste to me, so I subsituted diced fire-roasted tomatoes and drained them really well. I forget to pick up spinach so I left that out. Make sure you season the cheese sauce before adding to the pasta or it could be a bit bland. I added a pinch of nutmeg and some Italian seasoning. I used bread crumbs for the top seasoned with more Italian seasoning and pamesan cheese. It came out great! Can't wait to have leftovers for lunch today!

Whole-Wheat Rotini Mac and Cheese
Easy to make, but tasted bland... very disappointing.
Initially, I was really excited about this dish. It was a great idea, it looked easy to make, looked delicious on TV and it's healthy for the entire family. Once we all took a bite into it, we were all very disappointed. I followed the recipe exactly as written so I'm not certain as to what went wrong. It tasted bland and like cardboard. It was so bad, we threw away the rest and made Hamburger Helper. Sorry Aaron.

Great Idea!
Putting spinach into macaroni & cheese? Sounded odd to me -- but what a wonderful idea! I loved it. Not so sure my kids did -- but I would do it again! Kay Grosse Pointe, MI

Awesome dish, made a few modifications
This dish was great and I got rave reviews once I made a few changes. I added 1/2 cup more of each cheese, as I found the cheese sauce not thick enough. I also added more spinach, a bit of nutmeg and a pinch of cayenne.

Not creamy enough
This mac and cheese was okay. It needed more cheese, for some reason when i made it as indicated on the recipe it came out dry. It was not a huge hit with my kids like i thought it would be. Not sure if I will make this again.

Aaron hit a home run with this one
I added more cheese (just under 1 cup of munster) and a bit more spinach - closer to a cup but the recipe came out great. Very creamy and great flavor.

Excellent
Loved this mac & cheese. The tomatoes made it extra tasty. Skipped the bread crumbs. Never been a fan Used more cheese on top instead. Will definitely make again. Big Daddy rocks!

Awesome dish - even picky teenager loved it!
Thanks Aaron for the basic idea.... I did double the cheese and used 2 cups of spinach. All 4 members of our family loved it - including an EXTREMELY picky teenage girl! We're keeping this in our "tried it and loved it" recipe book.

ingredients didn't seem to match tv quanty
I really like the way it looked on tv, but it didn't seem to call for enough spinach and tomatoes or even cheese for that matter. It was tasty but definitely not as lush and creamy as Aaron's did. I hardly saw the tomatoes and spinach that I mixed into it. I think maybe the written recipe just didn't match his "eyeball" recipe. I'll try it again and use my eyeball measurements and maybe a bit more paprika and more flavorful cheeses to make a bit sharper.

Not Good
Oh boy, I really wanted to like this dish. It seemed like all the ingredients, when combined, would be delicious. I followed the recipe exactly as indicated, step by step, but did not like it at all. The amount of breadcrumbs was overwhelming (yes, I used the Panko brand as recommended). It was just way too much for 1/2 lb. of pasta. Would not make this dish again!!!

Creative, tasty, twist on Macaroni and Cheese
This was an easy and tasty twist on Mac n 'Cheese. Easy to prepare, the only change I made was to chop up the spinach and saute it a little before adding to the cheese and pasta. My guests loved this recipe and so did I. I will prepare this again.
