***Those with high blood pressure beware.*** If I fed this to my mother (she has HBP, she'd be dead as a doornail. This quiche is totally gross. I cut the salt back by a third and it was STILL terrible. My kids thought it tasted like a BAD hotdog. Being 3 and 4 years old, they are not very discriminating- until now. I am sooo angry that I have to throw this quiche in the garbage. The amount of salt is SOOO UNHEALTHY!

*Also, Fellow Raters... Don't give a recipe 3, 4, or heaven forbid 5 stars and then go on to say how you had to alter the recipe. If you need to alter the recipe that much.... DUH! Its a bad recipe!

I followed the advice of others and cut the salt a bit. My husband said he liked the quiche, but I thought the nutmeg overpowered the recipe a bit. Next time I would probably cut that to 1/4 or eliminate it all together. I also eliminated the onions and chives because my husband is allergic, so that might have interfered with the flavor a bit. Not bad though...not as awesome as he made it out on the episode, but that might have been b/c of my eliminations. Onions make so much difference, so it's hard to say. :

Too much salt and pepper (and i love pepper. It seemed to overpower the delicate tendency of the egg. Asparagus had great flavor. 35 minutes is not long enough at all.

this is such a simple recipe with good wholesome ingredients that carry
throughout the dish. so very flavorful...cheesy and fragrant. the aspaaragus was tender. the crust was a nice touch 2. I used fat free half and half and it was just delish!

I should have read the comments/reviews before I bought the ingredients for this quiche. I would have saved instead of failed. Way too much salt in this recipe! It absolutely ruined it!! I have definitely learned a lesson: Always read the comments/reviews about what others have said about the recipe BEFORE I try it. What a waste of expensive ingredients!! I thought at the time, "1 tablespoon of salt is a lot, but that's what the recipe calls for......" so I followed the recipe and should have followed my instincts instead.

i watched Big Daddy on the show and was so excited to try his recipe I just followed like a little sheep. I'm sure it would have been really good, but for the salt and pepper who can be sure. So maybe when asparagus is in season Ill try it again too pricey to fail....

I made this on the last day of the year for my co-workers since it was a little slow in the office. I reheated it and put it out for them and it was gone before the plate could warm up. I left out the mustard and didn't do that much salt/pepper and it was fine. Very easy to make. Next time I'll do it as small individual pies. Even the vegetarian in the office loved it.
Thanks, I will do it again soon.
