Since the difference between a lot of wasted indredients and a pie that could be served I had to give this a very low rating. IF the only way this will set up is to use cook and serve pudding it should have been stated in the recipe. I know I should have read the reviews but if Food Network post a recipe I think it should be noted as such. I strongly suggest you use Alton Browns recipe and totaly forget this one. The topping is a keeper but not on this pie too much to change to get the flavor you want.

I'm sorry I didn't read the reviews first so I would have known which type pudding mix to use. It definitely should have been specified in the recipe. I may try it again using the cook and serve pudding. Just feel bad about the waste. I did like the whipped cream.

Hey Aaron, I am forever on this site looking for interesting or great ideas. I love your show and the Neely's. I've always been told "Girl you can cook." I tried this pie and it was good. The whipped cream was BANGING!!! Love ya, would love to meet you..

Yumm!! I am not sure what happened to the folks who had issues with this recipe, but for us, the pie turned out perfect and tasted incredible! It was sweet, with just the right amount of lemon flavor. The topping was to die for! My husband can normally take or leave whipped toppings, but he couldn't believe it when he tried it. Said it's the best ever! Love your recipes AAron!

I read the comments, so I knew to use cook and serve pudding mix and I used Jello. My Husband loved the taste and so did I, It was delicious. I added lemon juice to the eggs, as was shown in the video. My Husband likes lemon, so I used 2 more lemons than was specified. I like trying new things and learning from the experts. I'll warn you, it is very rich tasting.

The pie never set, runny, too sweet. No mention of how to bake. I do not recommend this to recipe to anyone. There's gotta be a better way.

The filling didnt work well for me, just didnt taste like a lemon meringue pie. Not sure which type of pudding I should've used, instant or the cook kind. Aslo, it is not a "baked" pie. I liked the topping.

First of all, technically this is not lemon meringue pie as it doesn't use meringue. Also I have used lemon pudding, for years and have always doctored it to my taste. You have to use cook and serve as the lemon juice will counteract the ingredient in instant that allows it to set up ( I made that mistake once and it didn't set up I love the meringue, but using the whipped cream gave a different taste and spin on an old favorit. I do feel that the recipe needs to reflect the type of pudding to use as there are people who will look at it that aren't aware of the difference and it would not be fair to have them be disapointed with the results. All in all I like the recipe.
