I made this the day the show first aired, several years ago. I'm not a huge fan of pot roast, but I was intrigued by the cinnamon and olives. This is a delicious twist on a traditional pot roast. I love the combination of flavors: a bit spicy, a bit sweet, salty, and rich. I always serve with mashed potatoes (or wasabi mashed potatoes. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because you do have to cook it several hours instead of 1.5. It was still tough after the suggested time but became pull-apart tender after an extra 2-3 hours.

This receipe was incredibly good! A different twist on pot roast for sure. I used a jalapeno pepper and just put a slit in it as directed, this was such a huge flavor boost, I am amazed. I also cooked it longer, until you could separate the meat with a spoon. I will make this often, it is such a winner. Thanks Aaron!

So yummy I cooked it longer because of the other reviews I read! A keeper for sure! SO comforting and I didnt add the olives, my family doesnt like them but I came out so tender and the meat just fell apart! Served with white rice, next time I will serve with mashed potatoes

This meal was easy to prepare and was definitely tasty. Like a lot of people who commented the cooking time was a lot longer than what the recipe calls for. It took about 4 hours in the oven. After the 90 minutes at 300 that the recipe calls for, we bumped it up to 350 and it cooked that way for the rest of the way. Again, the pot roast is tasty with great flavor, you just need a lot more time than what it calls for.

Big Daddy, this was such a delectable recipe. My husband said, "Wow, this is delicious!" He has informed me that he wants this to be served again and again. If anyone is looking for a new twist on pot roast, then they should try this. I served it with cheese grits and it paired up really nicely. Thanks Big Daddy for putting a smile on my husbands face.

Big Daddy can't make a wrong recipe and his directions are so clear
I made this with out the spicy peppers-family can't do them-but loved the capers and olive addition. WOW!!!!! easy and will be made again and again. I think for summer in Fl I will try it in a crock pot. And the aroma when this cooks-you just have to experience it-and you need to NOW!
thanks BD!!!
