These were really good and very easy to make. I never eat mussels and now will be eating them all the time. The flavors were absolutely delicious. My 7 year olds also loved them too. Thank you so much Aaron for this wonderful recipe!!!!!!

My husband and I tried this dish for the first time. We are mexican so we used mexican chorizo and added red "ghost" chile insted of red pepper flakes. Needles to say, we love spice. We also substituted the veggie broth for chicken broth, since that was what we had on hand. This dish was Euphoric! My eyes closed everytime I took a bite and I can assure you it was an out of body experience. This dish is a must, great job Aaron!!

First time i've used white wine in any dish (always substituted broth or something else. Also was unable to find saffron (so i hope to remedy that and be able to use saffron next time. It was very good and the broth with fennel (first time i've used fennel and i liked the licorice scent and chorizo was a great idea. I was cheering for Aaron McCargo when he was competing in the Next Food Network star and am so happy he won. He has some great recipes to share and I love watching him!!! Righteous On Big Daddy!!!!! You Rock!

The broth is divine !! Great recipe for mussels . I did omit the red pepper flakes because I have 3 small kids and I wasn't sure how hot the Chorizo was going to be. I wished I had used at least part of the red pepper flakes because the recipe needs some heat. My only choices for Chorizo were beef or pork and on the show it looked like a dry aged chorizo that he said was from spain. I think a dry aged chorizo would have been better as for the one I had was a little greasy .

Fabulous! We love spice but not a lot of heat so I added just a pinch of red pepper instead of a teaspoon as the recipe called for. I am glad I did that or it would have been too hot for us. What a winner this one is. I will start watching more of his shows now. He is a hidden gem that we need to see more of.

I had never made or eaten mussels before and this recipe was AWESOME! I think this broth is some kind of elixir because after the first spoonful we felt like we'd fallen into some kind of broth-induced food coma. With it's addictive flavor, scent and other magical powers, it would be a great date meal.
