I have made this close to a dozen times and I love it more each time. I made my mother-in-law one for mothers day she said it was the best cobbler she has ever had.

i read all the other reviews and decided to use half the white sugar like a lot of people suggested. i didnt have nutmeg so used apple pie spice ; and added walnuts. i also didnt have ginger for the whipped cream so i added some maple flavoring instead. OMG !!!! this is probably the best dessert i have ever made. definantly the best cobbler!!! highly suggested as is or add your own twist!

This is so sweet I gagged after the first bite. I made it for a New Year's party and every serving was thrown out with just one bite taken. Toxically sweet! Cut the sugar by at least half or better yet, toss the recipe and find another one. Really awful!

The cobbler came out really well. I chose this recipe because of the addition of ginger and lemon, which elevated it and gave it extra flavor. I doubled the topping, and next time will try a touch more sugar in it. I added some extra nutmeg and cinnamon to both. Tasty!

Wonderful recipe. I don't like cobblers but love apples. This recipe converted me. Granny Smith apples are a little too tart for me but there are plenty of alternatives. I will definitely make this again!!!!

Excellent! I ended up with 8 cups of apples (using 5 large Granny Smith's but didn't really increase the other ingredients, other than putting a bit more sugar in. I also didn't have dark brown sugar, so added about a tablespoon of molasses to make up for it. This was a very nice departure from the the apple crisp that I usually make. Didn't have candied ginger, so just put a bit of fresh nutmeg in the whipped cream. All in all, totally delicious and the family all loved it! Will definitely make again.

This apple cobbler was easy to make and quite delicious to eat. I will make this as one of my desserts to serve my guests on Thanksgiving day.
