WOW, oh WOW Big Daddy, this ROCKED MY WORLD. My kids and friend loved it...crispy and tasty and EASY. If I could kiss your feet, I would. It came out so perfectly, this was the best and most successful recipe for fried catfish I've ever tried. Pan-fried instead of deep fried and it was outstanding. Thanks for sharing!!!!!!!

Very good! We prefer the fluffy batter and taste with the baking powder. did not have lager so used what was on hand, Bud Lite and it turned out good with homemade tarter! Thanks Big Daddy

I thought this was outstanding. Worthy of "5" stars but the batter was difficult to stay on the fish. It was very mushy and messy. I looked at the directions again to make sure I add correct proportions and followed directions. Seems like no one else had similar problems so maybe it was me. Don't know why though. Regardless of the process, the flavor was definitely "5" stars. Hopefully the next time will go smoother. If anyone has any suggestions to help the batter stay on, please help me.

Excellent! I think the batter would benefit from still more salt, but that was easily adjusted at the table. Others found this too salty? Hmm ... to each his own!

Delicious as the fish was, I'd gladly make fritters or hush-puppies from the batter, and leave the fish aside. This batter clings to the food flawlessly. The gritty crunch of the cornmeal was a lovely complement to the tender flesh of the catfish. This is a real winner.

This was outstanding. I skipped the cornmeal but added 1/3 cup corn starch (based on a Neely's recipe and it was great. I only lightly seasoned the fish based on the recommendations here.

Good. Will make again, next time I will use less salt in the seasoning of the catfish. Not a big fan of the cornmeal. Maybe next time I will skip. But the lemon gave it a really nice kick & flavor.

Excelent mixture. I used it for a fish fry and my guest enjoyed it.
