This recipe is awesome!!!!!!! You can never go wrong with one of Big Daddys recipes!!!!! I used goya discos instead of pie crust and only a 1 tsp of salt cause seriously it calls for 1 tbs that has to be wrong! Thanks Big Daddy!!!!

I've tried several recipes off of the food network but never reviewed any of them. But I tried this recipe yesterday and loved it! as a transplant to los angeles from new york, it has been hard to find good beef patties out here... If any at all! so I went on a mission to make my own hoping I can create one as good as the corner pizza places where I used to get them all the time. this was almost better! Big Daddy, thanks a lot! It was so good! I recommend betty crocker flaky pie crust. wasn't too sweet perfectly flaky! and I had plenty for days! ensley very well! I'm keeping this recipe for my own.

We love this recipe. I have a large family (11 children, so we have made this dish as a whole pie and it is wonderful. I really suggest doing the same if feeding a large number of people. so so delish.

I tried out this recipe for the first time yesterday with the hopes that it would taste like the meat pies I ate in Ghana. I ommitted the jalapeno pepper and used both premade pie crust and puff pastry. Rookie mistake of leaving the pie crust to defrost for too long which resulted in the beef patties crumbling too easily.. The filling tasted great even without the spiciness and I substituted ground turkey. This is a great recipe! I will definitely make again and watch the defrost time of the pie crust and probably even try to make my own pie crust. The pillsbury premade pie crust tasted great but too sweet for a meat pie. Also, I did not brush curry powder on top of the patties..I mixed this seasoning in the filling and I loved the taste! Next time since i do like the patties a little bigger, I will use a 5 inch cookie cutter or round bowl to cut out the dough so i can put more filling!

These were very good- I've made beef patties before, but the flavor in these was very unique and tasty. I love the curry and egg wash on top as well- it gives a pleasant aftertaste. They also freeze well too ;

I made this recipe today and I must say that if you have ever had a jamaican beef patty, this came close. I did ajdust the seasoning to my liking and put the mixture in a food processor to give the meat that smooth texture adding a little of the broth and olive oil to loosen it up. I rolled out the pie crust, just a little thinner and brushed it with a mixture of sazon and butter on the inside of the patty . I used Big Daddy's wash for the outside of the patty. Excellent

This is my first review. I chose it because I wanted to use my ground turkey. My husband bought the wrong pie crust that was already in a pan, and he forgot the onion. I finished the meat and later sautéed the onion in the extra beef broth and added it with the bread crumbs. I remembered to use sea salt instead of regular salt thanks to the other reviews I read before preparing. I was only able to make 13 in the pie crust, so I made a pot of white rice and served the remaining meat mixture over it. My 2 and 5 year old cleaned their bowls!! As I am typing I realize that I forgot to add the jalapenos. No problem, this was so good, quick and easy I will make it again this week. I wanted to offer an option to the recipe. If you don't want to take the time making individual pastry pockets, you can put the meat mixture in a casserole dish and pour a cornbread mix over it, your choice of mix. Once done baste the top with the curry mixture and bake 5 more minutes. Voila!
