I even thought to myself - way to much salt with all the cheese and bacon....lesson learned.

Trying it again next week minus salt and with more eggs. It had the base for a tasty dish.

I have finally learned to cut all spices Big Daddy puts in his dishes (minus hot in half. Way to much garlic in other ones Ive tried.

If you enjoy cooking, then you'll know how to tweek things here and there, however, with this dish, it needed no tweeking......my husband and I enjoyed the whole thing over 2 days. This also makes for a nice side dish, or even a great breakfast / brunch item with a mimosa. Following the recipe was easy, the ingredients and textures all blended so scrumptously together I will definitely make it again and again, this is a hit for my recipe collection ;-

Well Big Daddy that was very very good! It tasted a little like fried corn without being fried. The crunchy pieces along the edge of the pan was my favorite. My family loved it for Sunday Dinner. As a matter of fact I prepared your entire meal aired on Sunday April 11th! I took this spoon bread to work to let my co-workers try and they all said it was a hit! Keep up the good work Big Daddy!

I made this for my family. Only one person could eat it. I cut down on the salt and amount of paprika. It was still too salty. 1-1.2 tablespoons of salt in such a small amount of food would have been a disaster. I used under 1 tablespoon and it was still too salty. Overall this was not good. Too bad because I think Aaron is a great cook.

I never cook something from any food network show until other people have worked out the kinks! LOL! Waaaaaaay too salty?? Really? Too spicy?? Really? Texture of a sponge?? Really? Well... I took this dish to a potluck doubling the recipe. Didnt include salt at all. The bacon and cheese did the work for me. Decreased the cayanne and smoked paprika and put in the amount that my mind told me a sane person would include. Instead of doubling the five eggs to ten. I doubled everything else and kept the eggs at five. No sponge here ladies and gentlemen and not a drop was left!! OMG !! Was that goooooooood or what?? Ya gotta look at the recipe and think to yourself If I had thought up this dish how would I cook it???

Did everyone put 1 1/2 Tablespoon salt? Are you sure it's not 1 1/2 teaspoon? It is so salty, even salty food lover myself can't eat it.
