Wow. Another keeper recipe for me.. The rub / seasoning mixture just has the right flavor and heat for the salmon, great balance. It also gives it such a great color and presentation. I love blue cheese and the sauce is gourmet. I wouldn't mind if the sauce was a bit thicker but the taste is right on. Make this dish. You'll love it.

Had this for dinner last night. I fixed 1 pc of blackened salmon, 1 pc of nicely browned salmon [w/only evoo, salt and pepper] and the blue cheese sauce on the side. Our thoughts are as follows.

THE FISH: Salmon has a relatively delicate flavor yet we thought the blackening spices [I used less than half of the called for salt and cayenne] complimented the salmon without overwhelming it. We also liked the blackened salmon better than the salmon cooked w/only evoo, salt and pepper.

THE SAUCE: We like blue cheese and this sauce. In our opinions, however, the flavor of the sauce overwhelmed both the blackened and the browned salmon flavors!! We'll try the sauce [on the side the 1st time] on a hearty ribeye steak. Also, the sauce was a bit too thin to suit our tastes. I gradually added a water/cornstarch mixture to the hot sauce and it thickened up nicely.

In conclusion, we did not like the blackened salmon with the blue cheese sauce!

this recipe was wonderful! I've been trying to cook more fish lately, especially salmon, since both my fiance and i have dementia and Alzheimer's in our families. Tried this recipe on a whim tonight and we both loved it! It has a great kick, not too spicy though, and the blue cheese sauce was a great flavor addition with the kick. I think i may have cooked the sauce weird though, i think it was meant to be a little thicker, but it was delicious nonetheless.

I have never made salmon before...I've always brought it seasoned and ready to cook. This was the best tasting fish I've had in a long time. I thought salt would be an issue so I just decreased the amount since I was only making a serving for 2. I enjoyed it so much that I'm having it again tonight for dinner! I didn't bother with the bleu cheese sauce, I just squeezed fresh lemon on top.

Loved this recipe! I had to work with what I had so I used red instead of white wine and Parmesean instead of blue cheese. Still delicious! My sister said it is the best meal I've made in a while.

I am a big salmon lover & this is my new favorite recipe. The only part I changed the second time making this dish was I reduced the salt to only 1 tablespoon. With the salty blue cheese dressing is seemed to be a bit too much, this way I got more of the power from all the spices too! So easy, even my 10 year old daughter loved it!
