I won't state what I think of this recipe just know my fiance has been bragging about how good it was since I made it for her.

I made this a few weeks ago for my fiance and I with a few modifications:

I broiled the salmon instead of frying it.
I doubled the amount of Italian seasoning and halved the amount of salt.

I felt like it turned out perfectly and was really glad I halved the amount of salt because I could easily see it being too salty.

I served it with brussel sprouts in garlic butter and we drank the remaining white wine. An excellent and romantic evening.

I feel so bad giving the recipe such a low rating. The rub was EXTREMELY salty. My husband who is not a picky guy at all took one bite and in front of all of our dinner guests asks me if I tasted it, as it is way too salty. Then he excused himself to go spit it out! I was mortified. The fish fry method was quite oily as well. No one ate any of it. I followed the recipe exactly, and I'm quite surprised. The concept is wonderful, but I think that the two table spoons of salt should be cut down to maybe 1 or two teaspoons max.

I've read a few reviews to see if anyone else thought as I did, i.e. that the rub was too salty. Recipe doesn't specify kosher or sea, so maybe I used incorrectly. No matter, this is restaurant quality dish in my opinion and I absolutely love the sauce.

I have made this several times love it. I made extra rub, and blue cheese sauce, for the next time, which is just days apart.
I have used chicken, and catfish, as well as, salmon of course.

In the Past, I have attempted to cook blackened fish... unsuccessful.
While searching for a steelhead trout recipe, I saw Aaron's Blackened Salmon dish. I followed the recipe and my fish came out Perfect!!! I added a splash of lemon juice after cooking. I it was wonderful. I am serious.. It was really good. Best blacken fish I've ever taste.
    This recipe is a winner.

This is the only salmon that I will eat. I have made it a few times and it is easy and taste good. This last time I make the blue cheese sauce and "oh my goodness" that's all I can say. Even my 11 year old daughter who swore she wasn't going to eat it, ate it and had seconds.

I made this last night and was reluctant on the amount of cayenne pepper used but it worked so nicely. It made more then I needed but thrilled about that because I have it on hand. I made the blue cheese sauce and admit it was tasty but think the salmon on it's own is perfect! The cooking time is spot on in my opinion as I like my salmon medium rare. This is my first time making his recipe...nice job Aaron! I'm impressed

We liked this recipe, the salmon by itself with this rub was preeeeetty spicy. The sauce definitely helped balance out the spicy flavor. I thought it was good and would recommend. This recipe was good but for me it was missing the WOW factor.
