This was a good soup! I typically dislike seeing a review where someone totally changes the ingredients and then says what they think of the recipe we are reviewing so before you read farther - I did that this time. I had no fresh tomatoes so used a big can of whole tomatoes in tomato puree. I had no chicken broth so made broth from one cup water plus 2 bouillion cubes (covering the need to add more bouillion in the next step. And for personal preference, I added a large splash of heavy cream to make this a cream of tomato soup. Nice flavor to the soup! We enjoyed it. Take your time with the blender to make sure you get all the onions pureed.

Okay guys, you don't have to be the smartest person on earth to figure out that they call for way to much salt in the recipe. Plus, not even try making it first before making a post on it? Come on people!!! Use some common sense! Salt to taste!!! On a side note, this was so easy and wholesome! Will definitely be a staple tomato soup recipe in my house from now on! Thanx Big Daddy!!!

I haven't made this yet but, we have a tomato jungle going on. Looking for ways to use them all. Has anyone tried to make and freeze it?? We love tomato soup in the fall and winter.

I really liked this recipe. I thought I did not like tomato soup but this changed my mind. I really enjoyed it with the Grilled Cheese recipe. I swapped the fresh mozzarella with smoked mozzarella and it was delicious.

Thanks for changing the recipe on the site but after throwing out 2 batches of different levels of heat, I will not be trying this again.

I love spicy foods so the heat doesnt bother me, if you dont like spicy - then dont add the red pepper. Its that simple. This is a dynamite recipe and I'll definitely make it again. Super easy and so good. I just dIdnt have any sherry vinegar so I added a splash of red wine vinegar which goes great with tomatoes! YUM!

Very tasty, but was way too peppery for us. Had to stir in some yogurt to tone down all that pepper. Next time I'll halve the pepper measurements.
