My family loves this salad. The jalopeno wth the seeds is a must. It adds so much flavor. I did not make the jam, but I'm sure it's good.

This recipe was good and very flavorful. Followed recipe to the "t" & used Hawaiian rolls. Jam & shrimp salad could both separately stand on their own and will probably be making just shrimp salad again soon & serving with crostinis. Aaron is super duper creative & I love making his recipes-I make his recipes more than any other Food Network Chef. Go Aaron!!!

The shrimp salad turned out pretty good but the star of this dish is definitely the onions..My onions never really turned into a jam but the flavor was great nonetheless!

The thing I like about Big Daddy is he inspires me to try things that I normally wouldn't.
I subbed his Onion Jam for my usual caramelized onions on a grilled Turkey & Brie sandwich and it was awesome.
Last season he made us an eggwhite omelet...another thing that I would usually ignore (why omit the best part of an egg??.
But a few days later I had some whites to throw away.
I made Big Daddy's omelet and it was amazing. Now it's a regular part of my menus.

This dish is delicious! I made it for my husband and myself with full-size buns and we polished off every bit of the shrimp salad and the onion jam. Great flavors; would not change a thing. The shrimp salad would stand on its own, as would the onion jam. The jam could be used as a garnish for many other things.

First, I have to say we were so glad to see you win NFNS, and to watch your show is always insightful and entertaining, cause you can cook! Made the shrimp salad pretty much to the letter and made the onions too, also substituted agave nectar for the sugar in the onion relish. My goodness, we had it in pita pockets and it was sooooo good, I could just eat the onions plain!. So far any recipe of yours that I've tried has been wonderful. We're going to try the black bean burgers tomorrow, I'm sure we will love them, especially with a little of the leftover onions from tonight! Keep up your wonderful show and God Bless Justin, he is a precious co-star.

I have followed your show from beginning....bad thing is it comes on television at 1:30 pm..here in Washington DC....so I have to rush from church to see your show. I tried the onion mixture with the vinegar and red wine and sugar...but I substituted blue agave for the sugar and it WAS GREAT.......I used it on turkey burgers(filled with panko crumbs a good stretcher of ground turkey... for lunch and my son loved it. He said it b4 I said it taste like jelly..LOL.....Thanks for the help in bringing cooking for men for real....thanxs
