Sorry Aaron, but this was awful. I consider myself a better than average cook. It looked so good on your show. I felt terrible after feeding it to my husband after his long day at work. I make panini's all the time and they come out so much better. It was dry and the sauce was overwhelmed by the pepper. :(

Easy to make. Family loved it. Just used plain old pancake syrup and it worked great.

I have made this sandwich and the accompaning jelly sauce since I first saw it aired on Food Network. Recently visited my daughter and son-in-law and prepared it for them. Now they have made it numerous times as well.
We all agree...it is THE BEST Monte Cristo sandwich! It is easy to fix and out of this world!
Great job Aaron!!!! Love the show!

Ok, french toast with a serious twist : Hubby and I loved them and, although we didn't have the cranberry spread to go with it, we substituted pure maple syrup and it was awesome! Next time, I might add a slice of bacon to each sandwich and only use ham (I'm not a big turkey fan. We will definitely be making this again! We had them with homemade potato chips (sliced horribly thin on a mandolin, lightly salted as I figured my BBQ rub wouldn't go with the sandwiches.....but maybe.....hey, maybe next time, I'll take a brush and lightly brush the inside of the sandwich with my homemade BBQ sauce. hhhhhmmmmmmm.......Aaron, see what you do to me? LOL Big Mama's always about the flava too!

Teriffic sandwich. The cranberry and maple dip really enhanced the taste of the sandwich, as did the cinnamon. It made a wonderful, fast dinner meal!
