These were really good. I switch the anise for vanilla flavoring because I didn't have nay nor did I know if I would like it or not. So I played it safe by using vanilla along with adding some nutmeg too.

I had to give this recipe a try since I love the taste of sweet potatoes. As a warning, ?do not go cheap? on the puff pastry like purchasing the ultra super thin sheets that dry up and crack easily. I strongly recommend using the Puff Pastry from Pepperidge Farms because that's what the recipe calls for. The only modification that I made to this recipe is by adding an additional 1/4 cup of brown sugar to sweeten the mixture. It's possible to go over 2 pounds of sweet potatoes.
