My first attempt at scallops...successful! I served these for my father-in-law's birthday dinner. Everyone enjoyed this dish, and it was easy to do. Not very time-consuming or labor-intensive; I was able to prep & cook this while entertaining my 8-month-old!

Great recipe but do it like the show not the written recipe.

Easy Peasy and delicious. I think I had less broth that you did and would adjust next time. Everything else was perfect. One of my new favorite recipes - would be great for guests- very impressive but easy. First time I saw your show and I'm going to try all of the dishes.

This was one of the best episodes I've seen yet. His style is great and . The dishes were healthy, quick and easy to prepare and looked beautiful when plated. Will be cooking all the recipes from this episode this week for dinner guests. Thumbs up to Big Daddy's House.

I was so excited to make this recipe after watching the show on Saturday. I made this recipe last night and it was good but I was disappointed. The measurements were off; too much oil and onions, the cup of shitake mushrooms were not enough and I added more. Also, the recipe is different from the show; the veggie broth was not added to the onion mixture but to the pan that cooked the scallops.

Wow Big Daddy! Woke up and saw you,Yay!!!!!!!!!! I've been asking to see you. That shrimp salad looked bomb. I have shrimp in freezer and will try it this evening. Thanks. Your recipes always taste as good as they look. Glad Food Network listens to us. Not a sweet drink girl but I will try the light Sherbet Martini too.

I just finished watching the show, I totally agree, if I had made the dish the way it was written, I'm sure it wouldn't have tasted the same. He DID NOT add the broth to the onions and mushrooms, he added it to the pan after he seared the scallops. I have found the same errors with others recipes. Please, Food Network, keep that in mind. I'm glad I checked the reviews before I printed the recipe. Thanks

Why can't food network get it right???
If you can't print it like the Chefs cook it, then let them
    print it.

Thank god for Joni. She had to print it right for the TV Fans.

Thanks Joni for the heads up on the recipe directions. My husband and I made the dish last night using the "show" method and it was outstanding. The only thing we added was a bed of homemade mash potatoes. We put the potates in the shallow bowl first, next the onion mixture, then the scallops on top, pouring the vegetable broth around everything. The potatoes really added a creamy texture and a real comfort to the dish. We will definitely make it again.
